I am a forty-something mother of three (four if you count my husband!).  I created this website because, when I was a nervous new mother with little help or contact with the outside world, I turned to chat rooms for help.  What I found instead were mean-spirited people that were all too happy to tell other moms what bad parents they were in a manner so viscious it made you want to cry.  There were also very generous, giving moms out there who did try to help each other, but unfortunately, the bad ones could not be weeded out.  So I decided to create a safe forum where moms and dads could go for help without fear of being ridiculed, verbally beaten up or made to feel like the worse parent on the face of the Earth.

Am I the most perfect parent in the world with all of the answers?  No; I am human like everyone else.  But I have been around the block a few times, and in the process I have learned a thing or two.  I have been a high-power, high-earning business woman, a stay at home mom and, on rare occasions when I was awake enough to string together coherent sentences, a work at home mom.  I have survived 3 c-sections, 2 miscarriages and a gynocologist who told me 9 months post-partum that it was time for a tummy tuck and lipo!  I have survived the toddler years and learned some great tricks along the way that I wish someone had told me when I was first starting out as a new mom.  I have navigated my way through difficult situations with teachers, "well meaning" & opinionated strangers, family members who had different parenting styles, etc., and have learned how to handle these situations in a calm manner that benefits everyone.

If I do not have the answers, I turn to friends, doctors, books and the Internet to get my readers the most thorough, well thought out answer possible.  I also encourage other parents to jump on and leave their comments, tip, tricks, etc., and I invite guest bloggers to write about different parenting topics on my blog.  After all, they say it takes a village to raise a child, and I think fellow moms and dads are the best villagers around!
